Rowena Darke

Rowena Darke is a Sydney based visual communication designer. Through design, she brings creative and innovative ideas to life, with clean and precise execution of projects. Rowena uses skills of communication and problem solving through various types of design including typography, illustration and branding. She is driven by her passion to create change and her love of learning.
This project is the Central News rebrand and redesign of their current website, moving away from traditional news platforms, towards a more modern approach to journalism. We brought to life the youth, integrity and passion of the students work, all while balancing it out with smooth, accessible functionality. Credits: Bonnie Law, Thomas Kelly, Jessie Tsuei. Nightmare is my branding project for the 2021 RE:ACT campaign against driver fatigue, spreading awareness, educating and creating behavioural change amongst drivers. By focusing on late night drivers particularly after social events, this campaign is playful, nostalgic and fierce, relating directly to the target audience of 18-25 year olds. I am Earth is my branding project for the Climate Change exhibition at The Australian Museum. This campaign brings attention to climate change by captivating the target audience of the “concerned and disengaged”. By providing bright imagery, my project allows the climate change exhibition to seem enticing and exciting, giving the Earth a voice.
